Easter

I'm a little behind obviously, so I'm doing a post about Easter in June (is it really June already!) It is so much fun with Easter baskets and Easter egg hunts to watch the little ones get so excited! I tried really hard this year to not do so much candy and filled Mason's basket instead with a few toys, some learning books, and his one true love, bubbles! I'm serious, Mason has is obsessed with bubbles! We also tried really hard to stress the true meaning of Easter being the resurrection of Jesus, while not spoiling the fun of the Easter bunny. A friend of ours was telling us a funny story about this family that told their children up front that Santa Claus was not real and that the true meaning of Christmas was about the birth of Jesus. So, then when Easter came around and they tried to debunk the Easter bunny, their youngest said "oh great, is Jesus going to ruin Easter too!" I couldn't help but laugh! As a parent, you are faced with some interesting things, but who would've thought that protecting the meaning of Christmas and Easter would result in your child resenting Jesus! Lesson here is that you can never figure it out...just roll with it and incorporate both!
