PROJECT: Master Bed Make Over
Dan and all my neighbors can confirm that this has been a summer of projects for the Calley household. I will be posting about every single one of them, but one of my favorites and the first to really feel somewhat finished is our master bedroom.
More project posts to come....once we get them finished!
When we moved here almost four years ago, I went with a light blue. Over time I got frustrated with it because I love to change accent colors every now and then and you are so limited when you have blue walls! So, Dan and I agreed on a beautiful light gray with a fabulous charcoal accent wall. So, I painted the walls back in June and left the walls blank...until yesterday. I have been racking my brain on what to put on the walls and collecting things as I go, but never put anything up. So, as all Costco shoppers know, when you find something you like at Costco, you have to just get it, because once its gone....its gone! Well, this past weekend, I came across this gorgeous chandelier and it was so stinking cheap, so it was a no brainer! (I got lucky too, because they were all gone the next day!) Anyway, at first, I thought to put it above our big tub in the master bath, but after finding out that was a can light (which needs a conversion kit), I then considered to put it above our bed. The reason I didn't initially think to put it there is because I love to have the ceiling fan blowing at night, so I was hesitant to replace it. But with the new window we had put in, it doesn't get as hot in our room. Well, once I installed the chandelier, I realized that this had been the missing piece all along and everything else kind of fell into place. There are still a couple of DIY things I want to do for accents, maybe some of my typographic art, and Dan wants to put up some crown molding, but I absolutely LOVE my master bedroom now.
So, here are some pictures....first is the chandelier.
