So, this year with the new fireplace and bookshelves, we decided to get a new Christmas tree and decor as well. The funniest part about finding this tree is the "Griswald" moment I had when I saw it. Seriously! It was the last one they had...and it was mine! I didn't know that artificial trees came with snow on them and I love love love it! Anyway, I have tons of pictures of all the fun decorations (some I made) and I hope you like them.
So, for our new tree this year, I went with a light and woodsy feel with birds, owls (of course!) and old bells. Then I dressed it up with creme burlap and gold ribbon. I also wanted to focus on our ancestors and somehow bring the memory of them into our Christmas holiday. So, I printed photos of great-grandparents, grandparents and so on and them used pretty scrapbook paper to frame them and hang them on the tree. I also thought it was a good opportunity to share a story or two with Mason and Mackenzie about their family that lived before them.

| I finally found an advent calendar that I really like! And the best part is I got it for $7 because a door was missing...I can totally fix that! Anyway, my idea with this calendar was starting a 12 days before Christmas nightly message about Jesus. We are going to have a piece a paper in the little drawers with a scripture about Jesus and his birth and then there will be a "Good Deed" task to complete and you get the yummy treat. |

| I had a ton of fun making these wreaths. We have them in the front entry way. And this is where we are going to display the Christmas cards we receive from everyone. |
| This is a close up of the wreath... |
| Here's another wreath I made...along with the one below. |
| I did not make and of these wreaths, but they are so pretty. I think I got into wreaths this year...oh well! |
| I love our fireplace! I am so glad that our house did not come with one, because we got to do it how we wanted it done and I love it! Wish there was room to put one in in our bedroom! This is my favorite room during the holidays! |
Here are some of the pictures we put on the tree...I have many more...too many to post on here.
| This one is Dan's Grandma Cooley. |
| This is a picture of my Mom and my Grandmother (Bachi) holding me. I love this picture. |
| This is my Great Grandparents (Holliday line) |
| This is a picture of Dan's Grandfather holding his Dad. |
And of course the Bronco tree! We couldn't forget the bronco tree! This year I found little football ornaments and then I made the tree skirt out of Bronco patterned fleece.
| Tebow still tops the Bronco tree until we can find a Manning figure... |
I had a lot of fun decorating this year and I would have done more, but Dan put the stop on it...rightly so. I can get carried away. I have to have things to do next year anyway.
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you are drinking lots of hot chocolate and enjoying the season. We love you!
