Unless you build your house, you are likely to find things that you want to change. Unfortunately my list is long, but thanks to a little hard work and supportive husband it's getting shorter. Well, I have always hated the color / style of my cabinets, but as anyone knows, it can get spendy refinishing those suckers! Well, while I was waiting for the paint to be mixed for one of my other projects, I notice a box that said cabinet transformations. I got super excited, but then I heard the voice of my husband, "let's just have a professional do it." At $75 though, I was determined to convince him that it was my best idea yet! Besides, the guy behind the paint counter had heard nothing but good things and he's so reliable...right? :-) Well, Dan and Mason left for Denver to go to Broncos training camp and Me, Kenzie and the dogs stayed behind to start on the daunting task of refinishing the cabinets. I think I would have finished in about a week, but with our car taking it's last mile and having to look for new cars, it took me about two weeks. Next is the back splash, which I have some great ideas for, so I'll have to save up for that one! Anyway, I will let the before and after speak for itself and if you have any questions or are thinking of doing this yourself, let me know! I totally recommend this product!

| This is what the kitchen looked like when we moved in...Everything is the same color. |
 |
| With a little paint, I was able to tone down the dominant yellow color. |
 |
| Then we changed out the countertops to granite... |
 |
| And here's the latest! |
I would love to hear everyone's comments! I'm considering redoing all the cabinets in the house because they are the same yellow.

ReplyDeleteThank you Jeneece! Yes, let's pow-pow!
Deleteoh oh oh!!!!! it looks so great!!! when I finally get the courage, I'm going to start with the cabinets in the garage, and then a bathroom before I do anything to the kitchen. . . . so afraid of making a very costly mistake.
ReplyDeleteHeather, I know you would do a great job and if you need any help...you know where to find me!
DeleteWay to go! Saving money and working like a pro. Looks fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashley!
DeleteSha-Zam! These look fabulous! great choice of color. Love the lighting above the cabinets too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Chad! Glad you like the lighting too...I added it to help lighten up the surround so it wasn't too dark.
DeleteIt looks awesome! I really want to do this at my sister's house. We were lucky enough that our house came with corian counters, but I'm not wild about the pattern. I love the granite you picked though!
ReplyDeleteThank you Meg! I still need to see pictures of your house!! Have you posted them on your blog and I just missed it?
