A Miracle

This post will not be filled with pictures like my other posts and will be about an extraordinary experience from today that I just had to share with you. I only hope that a little bit of what I felt today comes through in what I am about to write...

I have never been as close to Christ as I was today. I was a witness to a miracle. Today, a brave Mother surrendered her baby to my Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, who have been patiently and painstakingly waiting for a child to love, nurture and call their own. As I stood there and watched the birth grandmother wrap her arms around my Sister-in-law with tears in her eyes and tell her, "You are the right choice...you are SO the right choice" I felt the purest love I have ever witnessed between two people. There was an unspoken sympathy and gratitude that filled the room and just about had me falling to my knees. If you know me, you would know that I am usually not at a loss for words and today all I could do was cry. I felt so privileged to have been present in such a selfless act of sacrifice and love. All I could get out of my mouth that made sense when I spoke to the birth family was "Thank You" (which had to be the most meaningful "Thank You" I have ever said!) And as I drove home and thought about what I witnessed today, I was humbled and reminded of what is truly important to me. And I can only hope that we all find the answer to that question at some point in our lives.

Thank you to all the sacrifices that have been made by the ones I know and the ones I don't know...you remind me of the little miracles that can happen everyday. And thank you to all the Mother's who chose LOVE.
